It’s hard to believe that the year of 2008 will write it’s final chapters in less than twelve hours.  New Year’s Day and the weeks following are a key time to reflect on our accomplishments of the year’s past.  It’s also the best time to set new goals, create new routines, and start fresh!  Personally and professional, January 1, 2009 means the beginning of many new adventures in my life.  The surprises I have in store for my blog announcements through January and February are incredible!  I’m giddy with excitement.

I have a challenge for you.   Do you find yourself saying, “Where did the time go?”  If so, then Thursday is a great day for you!  I challenge you to document your life everyday.  Start a blog, take more pictures, start an bulletin board of daily thoughts, write a book, journal…or do all of these things!  But the catch is to do it everyday so that when December 31, 2009 rolls around, you can reflect back on your year with solid documentation of your accomplishments (and failures) and learn from your experiences.  But most importantly, set goals and keep them with you everyday.  Focus your energy on those goals everyday and you will achieve them.
Here’s a quote I shared last December 31st on this blog.  I have it taped to my kitchen cabinet above the coffee pot:
“This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind…let it be something good.”–Author Unknown
